Campus Activities
 
The 1st and 2nd of February 2006 weree exciting days for the students and staff of Wesley Degreee College (Co-Ed) Secunderabad. They had the Joy of Hosting Wescon ’06 a Literary and Cultural Festival.
The College Campus wore a festive look with colourful tents and stalls for games and eats against a splendid stage that fetched great attraction. Scintilating music and dance were the most enjoyable part in the festival . Students from about 25 colleges around the twin cities participated in various activities from nice in the morning till four in the evening.

Literary competitions included: JAM – just a Minute , Debate and Essay writing in English , Hindi Telugu and Arabic languages, General Knowledge , Quiz and college topics like “What India could not do in 60 Years of her Indepence “ and “ Men have failed and Women must take over” were the most interesting Cultural Competitions included Solo and Group Dancing , Solo Singing, Instrumental Music , Face Painting , Rangoli , Mehendi and Hair Styling . Several students from various colleges participated and Won First, Second and Third Prizes in all the events.
Wescon ’06 was started on the grand note . Dr. E. John Revinder the Education Secretary , Dr. Jonathan Dharmaraj, Director CSI IT and Mr. B.Vimal Sukumar, Director Wesley P.G. College were the guets of honour . The Principal Mr.K.S. Devannand Suresh Kumar Welcomed and honoured the guests . Mr. B.Vimal Sukumar released the colourful balloons while Dr. John Ravinder lit the wescon Torch.The aptly sung welcome song by Mr. D.A Mitra was the highlight of the inauguration . Along with students the senior staff of the college took great initiatives in planning , Publicity, Organising and in executing the event . The panel of Conveners included Senior Lecturere: D.A Mitra , B. Murali , Thoyajakshi , Sunil Lazarus and M J Eliot.
The Moderator and Resident Bishop, The most Rev. Dr. B.P Sugandhar was the chief Guest along with Mrs. Nalini Sugandhar , the First Lady of C.S.I Officers of the Medak Diocese and Heads of Institutions were present during the Valedictory. The Chief Guest appreciated the Principal , Staff and Students for organizing such acolourful event and suggested that it should continue in the years ahead. The Dignitaries on the dais gave away prizes in turn to the dance which made the participants go gaga. The curtains were lowered as participated bid adieu to Wescon’06. It was indeed a memorable event.

ANNUAL Day ’06
February 2nd, 2006 was a great day for students and staff of Wesley College . It was the day to recall all the toil and labour that went into making of the academic Year 2005-2006, and also to remember with pride the success and the achievements of the year. It was a Day to honour those who inspired , motivated and enabled the happenings during the Year. The Annual Day also served as the concluding part of Weson ’06 , a two day Literacy and Cultutal Festival ,which the college hosted with a great sense of euphoria and gaiety.

The Moderator and Resident Bishop, The Most Rev. Dr. B.P Sugandhar was the synosure of the evening followed by the First Lady of the Church of the South India, Mrs. Nalini Sugandhar, Guests of honour included Rev. Y. Robinson, the Diocesan vice-Chairman, Rev . Dr. P.Surya Prakas the Diocesan Treasure and several other officers of the Diocese.
The celebrations commenced with the customary guard of the honour followed by the huge welcome by the Principal, Mr. K. Devanand Suresh Kumar. The gathering including students, parents, invitees and of courses the hosting stff of the college. The programme was anchored by Rajeev , student of B.Com final Year and Zeeshan rasheed of B.Com Second Year.
The Principal in his exhaustive report represented with the pride all the achievements of the students and staff in academics , Co-curricular and Cultural activities besides the excellent and outstanding performance of the students in various sports and games. The performance and achievers were duly recognized, applauded and rewarded by the way of prizes , certificates and trophies.

The chief Guest, Most Rev. Dr. B.P. Sugandhar in his address to the gathering appreciated the leadership of the principal and congratulated the students and staff for their excellent performance in various fields . The dignitaries on the dais turns to give away the prizes to the winners and achievers among students
The second part of the Annual day was the cultural show. Students presented a variety of Song and Dance programme and entertained the guests . It was indeed a memorable evening for all of us at Wesley before we take off with the University Examinations.
